Albert provided the UK highest rated financial app for self-employed people, automating daily financial management and bookkeeping tasks. It raised various rounds of investment from leading investors including Mangrove Capital (Wix, Skype) and top fintech entrepreneurs.
I had the pleasure of working as one of the first full time hire at Albert, working closely with Ivo Weevers, co founder & CEO and Daniel Bruce, co founder and CTO . Daniel and Ivo needed a marketer who could bring his expertise to help their new iOS app to grow and compete with the big players like Quickbooks for SMBs and Invoice 2 go.
My first actions, as head of marketing was to completely restructure their Google Ads account, that was previously managed by a third party media agency.
I also reviewed the App Store Page and put in a place a whole new strategy of A/B testings with the images, description, titles and reviews..
I also analyized all the data that I could gather to define ideal personas that would generate as many invoices as possible with the app, at the highest value.
Very quickly, I managed to half their Cost per Install, meaning that, with the same budget, I would get twice as many daily installs.
After a year at Albert, I managed to scale the app to be the number 1 invoicing app in the UK, with a budget 10 times lower than the other big players.
After 2 years, Santander, one of the biggest bank in the world, who was impressed by the quality of the app and its performance, decided to acquire the app to incoporate it into their new app: Asto
